it can make a big mess of a snake, particularly smaller ones, hatchies and juvies, getting caught up in could actually prove fatal

snakes get stuck to tape. Rips their skin off.

is tape toxic to snakes then?

When I purchased a corn with a viv once, the viv had a vent missing and the hole was covered with gaffer tape. I ripped the tape off then had a look around at what I could use to secure it. The best I could come up with was the mesh from a plastic sieve. I cut the mesh out, put it over the hole and staple gunned it into place. It held well until my replacement vents came a few days later.

if the snake can get to the tape nope its not ok, if the snake cant get to the tape then its fine.
