I was just wondering what everyone's preferences are in regard to the sex of their corn? Are there any major pro/con differences between them or is it just up to personal taste. I m ow the males can get antsy and refuse feeds during breeding times but unsure of females do as well? Also with temperament as well is there any difference there? (cause I know females of other species are more temperamental than the males   )

I can feel bumps along the length of her body and she looks quite porky. It's very similar to when they are gravid. Carmellia got me in a right panic last year when I felt bumps along her body, just after we had got over Connie laying. I was just thinking 'oh no, not again'. And she was still well below 300g so I was really worried. But after a bit of research online and looking at some photos of other species ovulating I decided to just wait and see and hope for the best. I can't remember how long she was like it for but then I couldn't feel them anymore and they had been reabsorbed. |

I've got 2 fermales - and I also wish they were males so there wasn't the worry about infertile eggs!! How do you know if a snake is ovulating kdlang? |

If your not interested in breeding I would go for males all the way. Yes you have to put up with them going off their food during breeding season but I would much rather have that than the worry I did over Connie's egg problem. Carmellia is ovulating at the moment and I am a nervous wreck at the moment in case she decides to lay an infertile clutch like Connie did although last year she just reabsorbed them so hoping she will this year too. You also get the fun of watching the males being sooooo much more active than the rest of the year. I can actually tell I have snakes in the vivs lol.
Aside from the breeding season issues, there isn't a great deal of difference between the males and females. I think my females are probably the most reliable feeders and strikers. I haven't noticed a difference personality wise as both sexes can have their off days. |

I'd go for males too, cheaper to feed when adult as they go off for a few months, and they don't lay eggs! :D
(I am only kidding about them not feeding being a perk of course) |

8s unsexed but in a way i am kind of hoping he is a boy as then i don't have to worry about eggs and all the potential problems! |

Don't know in general, but my male is so laid back yet my female is huffy and so much bigger, they're not proved out sex wise, had them probed - the male they nearly lost the probe so am quite confident and the other we think is female as the probe didn't really go anywhere although i know if it was tense it wouldn't have (she's a she to us) |
