hi i returned home from work to and as i got in my mate rang me begging to put two of his fat tailed gecko eggs in my corn incubator. he didnt realise she was even gravid. any way my incubator sits at 81°f -82°f. after he sropped them off i went and bought a book on them and it says to keep them between 84°f -88°f. now obviously im not gonna turn my temps up. but the book says below 85°f they woll hatch as females. but are my temps to low for his gecko eggs |

I'd let your mate know the difference in the temperatures and that you can't turn your incubator up for your own eggs, hopefully he can get one set up himself and take the eggs back
he knows that the difference but he said he understands i wont turn mine up.

i bought a book about them and it said u can incubate between 83 - 87 but will 1° make a difference |

think with some reptiles sex is infulenced by temps am sure crocs are. we've got gecko eggs incubating at college at the minuet and we've got them at around 85°f if thats any help? |

is sex not determined by genetics (xy) chromosomes and all that or is it different in reptiles where the sex is determined when they are developing in the egg?? Curiosity and gap in knowledge here
I'd let your mate know the difference in the temperatures and that you can't turn your incubator up for your own eggs, hopefully he can get one set up himself and take the eggs back |
