Posted - 05/11/2012 : 14:29:46 Hi, our corn 'Frank' is approx 7 months old, had him 5, and still on one pinkie every 5 days. Can only see a slight bulge when he has swallowed and wondered whether it is time to try him on 2 pinkies now. he is getting quite long but to me looks slim so changed from 6 days to 5 for feeds for last 2 weeks. Any advice and is it normally about 7 months old that he could be eating 2 pinkies???? Thanks |

Posted - 07/11/2012 : 09:58:34 thank you for your responses and advice, it really does seem time to double on feeds, got about 5 pinkies left so will double up and see how we go, then maybe fuzzies! Wow, my baby really is growing up, thanks so much |

Posted - 05/11/2012 : 18:56:39 I recently moved my six-month baby up to fuzzies, I did a couple of double pinkie feeds just to use up the rest. He was 16g and about 45cm long when I gave him the first fuzz, and it looked huge! It was about 1.5x widest part of his body though. He ate it fine, and after 5 fuzzy feeds is now 30g and 50cm, so growing fast! |

Try her and see how it goes, as long as the meal isn't bigger than one and a half times the size of her widest part! |

Posted - 05/11/2012 : 15:52:27 I'd try him on 2 and see what happens. After 3-4 double feeds, or enough to use up your pinkies, I'd move up a size. |

Posted - 05/11/2012 : 15:33:00 I did this for a while until I was advised otherwise by a local reptile store. Ess's first fluff looked huge against him, but as soon as I started feeding them he grew into them.
If in doubt a pop down to your local reptile store will let you know if your snake's ready to size up. |

Posted - 05/11/2012 : 15:14:09 I'd say a seven month old should be on fluffs by now ( some people think that the guidelines are there to be stretched) but stick to the little to no feeding bulge so up. Do a couple of feeds ever 6 days like that and them move him on to fluffs and he will start polling on the weight x asking as the prey is not more than 1.5 times the widest part of the snake x |
