Hey, I've had my corn snake for about 4-5 months now, she's about 2 and a half years old. All the while I've had her she's been very shy and impish, never coming out of her hide very often, if I wake up and turn the light on when she's out during the night she'll run off back into her hide and sit and watch me from her hide until I've turned the light back off.

But recently I've bought a second snake, his viv sits on the of my Corns viv, and ever since he's been there, my corn has been very very active, like if I'm in my room she'll come out of her hide and sit there, walk about for a bit then just sit there again staring at me. This will go on for ages now!

Literally almost all the time I'm in my room! Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining or anything, it's great to see her become more active but is she getting jealous? Jealous that there's another snake in the room getting attention as well as her? I treat them both equally, giving them both the same amount of attention and everything.

Can snakes get jealous?

Ah right, cheers, I was just wondering because since I've had my second snake my Corn has been completely different, although it's strange. it's also quite interesting really I though

Even though we can't rule out jealousy, I would think it's rather unlikely. Interesting smells / being territorial seem way more likely :D

Ah right okay thanks, will they learn to accept each other with time? Or will there be competition between the two for a while?

Yeah they do, the start shouting at each other like the tarts on eastenders :-P

Maybe a condience, my mainly inactive snakes get a bit more active round this time, no idea why though.
