On Ebay you can get digital thermometers for £2.18 or there abouts

I advised you to buy the led strip from ikea as lighting. Does not give off heat so no burns on snake. Only costs £11.00.

Auld baldy recommends these to everyone, he works undercover for ikea lol

As everyone else says better to get digital thermometer they are around £5.00

Good luck

You will soon get into the swing of feeding and not notice it you spend more time worrying that they do eat ok

I am looking at all the different types of lighting and heat mats etc, I'm so confused lol

Did anyone feel a bit grossed out at the thought of feeding when they got their first snake? My cousin had snakes when we were younger and I loved them and I've been watching loads of videos so I'm feeling less grossed out now but reckon it might take me a couple of feeds to get used to it lol

Personally I feed by hand and have a game of tug of war
gmac Posted - 26/11/2012 : 20:33:36
again lighting is optional, no benefit for the snake

with regard to the thermometer go for a digital one rather than the dial ones, the digi ones are far more acurate!!

Hydrometer not really needed, room humidity is fine, except you may want to raise it a bit when shedding comes around
