Posted - 28/11/2012 : 10:20:13 And following on from that what is your fave?
I have this http://www.bluelizardreptiles.co.uk/housing/vivariums/5060127652297
I really like it and am already thinking of getting another snake in the future but fancy something different looks wise to home him/her, we have a pet corner in our house specially for reptiles etc looking for some ideas for the future... I know a lot of people use RUBs which I'm not adverse to but would rather have something glass/wooden.
We're also eventually getting 2 bearded dragons, leopard gecko, chilli rose tarantula, tree frog and a scorpion,
The idea is they'll all have different looking homes which will make our collection of vivs look really good IMO.
What do you think? |

Posted - 28/11/2012 : 14:13:55 All of my corns are in 3ft x 18" in vivs, I need to have another double made so that they match the others, I know, another one that has slight OCD lol. The leos have a 3ft x 18" viv each. Oh and I need another double for the two skinks to live in again so they match lol. Bryan the honduran is a 30" x 15" wooden viv until he is little bigger and will then go into one of the 3ft x 18". Bert the crestie is in an exo terra 60cm x 45cm x 60cm and Stevie the hognose is in a tub inside a 2ft viv as she stopped eating and Nigel the royal is in a 3ft x 15" until he is little older. Thinks thats everyone covered ;) My favourite one is Berts. |

Posted - 28/11/2012 : 13:56:44 my first beardie has a great temprement and i got a second juvenile one much younger then izzie and they get on great been together nearly a year now and they been fine together both girls, yes 2 males will fight as they both want the territory rights, hard to sex them from very young and dont belive a pet shop either as they cant tell either, its all to do with the bumps at base of tail and which way they go, luckily my second one turned out to be a girl as i dont want to breed them, seems most people but 2 at the same time but then its pot luck what sex you end up with great little lizards though plenty of charachture |

Posted - 28/11/2012 : 13:42:59 J think its the same with berdies as is with other animals. Only adult berdies if opposite sex can be kept together. Or females from a young ages. They need a big enclosure. 4x2x2 I think is the recommended for 1-2 bearded. But that's where my knowledge of bearded ends. |

Posted - 28/11/2012 : 13:37:40 Our next pets are going to be a couple of beardies, I noticed you keep yours together which Is what I'd prefer to do, so do they have to be bought at same time and already live together to do this or not. I don't want them to hurt each other if they don't like it. (Obviously I'd have a second place set up beforehand in case one needs moving.
What is the best age to get and when do they start to breed age wise as we'd like to breed eventually so getting a m and f makes sense but then would they not be able to live together? Also heard 2 males will fight? Thanks and sorry for all the questions |

Posted - 28/11/2012 : 13:16:44 i am currently in the middle of building a new viv for ike (rhino iguana) for those that remember him he,s getting a big boy now pics will be following when its done, it,s two vivs in one 4 foot x 4 foot x 2 foot at the top with a seperate 4foot x 2foot x 2foot at the bottom for my boa who is also getting a big fella, corn snake thumper is in a 3foot viv and loves the space, my 2 beardies are in a 4foot x 2foot x 2foot viv and wouldnt keep them in anything less really as this seems to give them both ample space to either chill together or be far enough apart if they want to be alone |

Posted - 28/11/2012 : 11:30:10 hissyfit your not the only one who likes every thing to look the same! I have two lx36 viv's stacked, although the top one has a faun in it at the mo as jinx isn't quite big enough to go straight in the viv yet. I have mentioned that a third would really finish the stack off but I've been told no |

Posted - 28/11/2012 : 11:13:39 I have a double viv stack in white with a monkfield on top. I plan to have a triple stack built for all 3 snakes probably in white when the 2 younger ones get bigger. I'm slightly ocd so like everything to look the same |
