Well, having measured Lovecraft again, it would seem that he has added an extra 10cm to his length in the six weeks or so that I've had him, which probably doesn't sound a lot but seemed impressive to me. He's now around 60cm rather than 50 :) To the eye what's more noticeable is that he's chunkier around and I reckon he's a fair bit heavier now, though the kitchen scales we have are rather inaccurate so it's hard to say. He's also now taking smalls like he used to take fluffs and they're not leaving nearly as impressive a bump as before...

Just thought I would share my pride/excitement. Here's a recent picture of him my housemate took just after a shed, because why not: :D

You really think he could be a sunglow? I've always assumed he was just a regular amel as that's what Pets at Home sold him as and I'd never heard of sunglow before (except in passing), but naturally I've now rushed off to Ian's viv :P

There are some white flecks around his saddles, but they're few and far between, maybe covering the odd scale here and there. You can see them in the first pic, paritcularly towards his tail. Apart from the saddles he's much more orangey than the amel on Ian's Viv, but probably not as bright as the sunglow listed there either... Basically I'm just wondering whether he's sunglowy enough (if that makes any sense lol) to count as a sunglow or whether he's just a particularly bright amel?

Just a note; he's a yearling, so I guess his colour might still have some developing to do?

To tell the truth I don't mind at all what morph he is, I think he's awesome regardless, but I'd like to know for curiosity's sake :)

Okay, so I finally got 'round to buying some digital scales and apparently, as of last Saturday (he eats on Sundays) he weighed 63g... don't know if that's a lot or a little but it does mean that he's put on at least some weight since I've had him as when we tried to weigh him on the analogue scales a few weeks ago he was somewhere between 25 and 50 grams (the gradations on the scales were 25g apart and tiny...

But yeah, growing, and thanks Herriotfan :)

Yeah, I do need to get digital scales; it's not the price that's stopping me, just that I keep forgetting whenever I'm in town :P

Hopefully I'll remember tomorrow though and will be able to report his weight :)

Aww he's lovely :) You should pop and get some digital scales from the supermarket, they are only about a tenner!
