Hey everyone, sorry I'm not so active right now. I'm away from home till September. Missus didn't double clutch but my eggs didn't hatch either. My mum still has them incubating and they are under close inspection but it's not looking good unfortunately. When I left home to come help my boyfriend dogsit for his friend till September they weren't looking very good and I only had 6 that looked even remotely like they were going to hatch. My mum is giving me updates when she get's chance but so far, no hatchies. They are on day 74 now.

Anyway, I'll try and keep you all updated with how they go when I get updates. My mum knows what to do it they do hatch but it's not looking good right now.

We have a life-line I was being kicked out just before I turned 17 because the Child Tax Credits and Child Benefits stopped on the 2nd September but my mum has been told she can claim a Child Benefit Extension which ends of the 15th January next year which gives me more time to find a job! So I'm staying till January now instead.

Oh I see, bit of a catch 22 then :( At least she agreed to look after your snakes. Hope you find a job soon.

I can't pay her rent because I can't find a job and I can't claim anything unless I'm living away from her. She's said my animals can stay with her till I can take them and support them though so I won't have to sell up luckily.

That sounds a bit harsh! Can you not pay your mum 'rent' rather than moving out? I hope you get everything sorted and don't have to give up your snakes :(

Sorry to hear of your bad fortune.

I guess that most landlords wouldn't have a problem with reptiles... I think it's just cats and dogs and anything else that can chew carpet and scratch woodwork!

I've also just found out that my mum is kicking me out on the 2nd of September because she can't afford to support me any longer. So I may end up having to sell my reptiles unless I can go into a shared housing that will allow reptiles.

I hope so. Ah well, we'll so. Guess I'd be better seeing if I can find a second hand incubator(a proper one not a home made one) to buy before I am expecting eggs next year. I'm looking for a Lucky Reptile Herp Nursery II because I've had experience with them before and know they work well.

I know. It still makes me feel bad Guess next year will be another year to try. The pair will go into brumation in the beginning of November and come out in the beginning of February.

The general "guide" is 60 days but I know they can go up to 90 days. However, I just spoke to my mum on the phone and apparently they have completely shriveled and are brown and fuzzy so it sounds like they are dead

I don't think missus will be double clutching but my mum gave her a Moss Hide and is keeping a close eye on her as well as she's been acting odd apparently.

I need to pop home when I can but I need to plan when because I have to go on the train and it would only be a day trip to check on things and make sure all my other animals are all OK.

I'm just upset that my eggs failed. I guess I'm just not that good
