I suspected he was about to shed, as he actually emerged from under the newspaper, where he's been hiding for the last ten days, steadily ignoring the nice moss hide I'd made for him... I saw him sneaking into the moss hide. Went downstairs for a drink, came back - and heard the shedding sound - the tiny little crackling noises.
Looked in his viv, and, sure enough, there he was, the first couple of inches already peeled off. He seemed angry, when he saw me watching, and finished the shed in less than two minutes! No wonder I missed it before.
He's sulking in his warm hide now, so haven't really seen his new, shiny colours yet.
All this time, the little newbie Seb is glass dancing - he reminds me of the Donkey from Shrek - " Meee, pick meee, pick meee!"
Am happy, as this is only the third time I've seen one of mine shed, in 2 and a half years of snake keeping! |
