Not to self; get longer tongs.

She's been funny lately, always in hunting mode, ready to have a go. It's not like her. Probably annoyed that I've put her on a diet. She's only being fed every 10 days now...

Just glad it wasn't Diego o.O Luna's feeding response is very gentle, but Diego is ferocious, he probably would have gnawed my finger off lol

I think it sounds about right, she's trying to feed up, after having all those eggs, and with winter coming, and then spring next year and time to breed again...still, can't believe beautiful Luna could do something like that! Very impressive bite :-)

Huh, I guess that is certainly something to consider moppet...this year was the first year she's ever been bred, she was very fat last winter but I've not tried to pile on the weight again since she's about right now. It has started to get a fair bit colder and darker. Wonder whether I should feed her a little more frequently? She wasn't brumated last year, but maybe the eggs have made her instincts kick in this year...

That's a good one!

My female Kali is behaving in exactly the same way! She's acting like she's RAVENOUSLY hungry and striking everything that could possibly be food (including me but she let go very fast so no pics). I think it's because she's expecting to go into brumation and wants to put on weight so that she can breed again as soon as it gets warm afterwards. I wonder if it's the same with your Luna.

hahaha, love it mj lol. She's tryin desperately to get out, she either wants to kiss it better or finish the job. No way I'm letting her out while she still has my blood on her face XD

If you put the 'affected part' in a tub/bucket/sink of cold water you'll find she lets go pretty darn quick-saves being 'chewed'
now I believe standard procedure is;

1/ post pics of wound-check

2/inject 'anti venom',into the snake.

3/rub snake stools into wound (best from the snake that kissed you)or any snake of SAME species-doesn't have o be same Morph.

4/dress wound with a wrapping of shed skin.In an emergency cling film can be used-this has the advantage of allowing you to see progress of wound.

5/remember to change dressing daily and apply more stools-you should see some swelling/irritation and eventualy greenish/grey liquid will seep from the wound-this is any toxins leaking out.

good luck and remember it could have been far,far worse-imagine the horroe of being bitten by a hoggie!

woohoo cracking tag that
SilverWings Posted - 29/09/2013 : 16:16:00
Maybe 5 minutes, it actually didn't hurt, I think it only bled so much because she was squeezing so hard.
