hiii im new to owning corn snakes and pick my first one up this weekend... im used to owning pythons and they eat live bait. I noticed on here it says you cant feed a corn snake live bait and was just wondering why this was?

My cornsnake is about 15 months and come to think of it he has never really had a treat before, all he eats is 1 large thawed mouse each week :)

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Feeding live is frowned upon in this country unless the snake will not eat any other way and so would die without it. Not only is it cruel for the prey item it is also dangerous for the snake as mice/rats can fight back.

Hi and welcome, there is absolutely no need for it, just cruel in my opinion.
