I have feed my corn snake three times, (only had her 3 weeks) and the first time she strikes at her mouse then did the squeeze with a role and eat the mouse head first. The other two times she has been really soft and delicate. Opening her mouth slowly, looks at me as if to say " is it mine" was expecting something more dramatic. Will this change, is it something that all corn snakes do, have different ways of eating, surprise each time? |

Ive got every type of feeder in my collection from the ones that think they are wwe superstars and spend 5 minutes rolling round the feeding rub all coiled up with the mouse to those that i have to place the mouse under the warm hide place them back on the rack leave them be and theyl take it when they think im not looking lol its a very individual thing as long as they eat uve nothing to worry about lol |

Thank you so much for all your advice, it is much appreciated. It just stops me worrying if I'm doing every right. I really don't think she was happy at the pet shop, like I said before has not bitten me but did with the men at the shop. Just want the best possible start for her and give her a good long happy life, I want to be still talking about her many years from now. Already thinking about Xmas, maybe another corn snake on the list if I'm a good girl, Santa knows if you are good or not :) |

Aww, bless her. Gentle and delicate is fine! I've got one who feeds in lots of different ways depending on what takes her fancy. Sometimes she will strike and constrict, sometimes eats gently and other times will just want the mouse left in the rub and she sort of stalks it before eating it bum first!! Her mealtimes are always rather interesting to say the least.

Some snakes strike all of the time. others none of the time... some half and half... etc etc.Just depends on the snake Blitzen strikes all of the time, but he would only strike sometimes when he was younger |

Thanks, was worried if I was doing anything wrong. I try my best to help her out, I use my hair dryer to warm up the mouse before feeding so it smells and looks to her more appealing after defrosting. So dedicated to her needs, things we do for pets...lol. I don't see many clips on You Tube with gentle corn snake feeding looking so sweet, but like you said it's very sweet. I don't talk to her went I feed her as don't want to put her off, I think if I did It probably would....haha |

Sheldon has only ever strike fed once, we've had him since December he now just takes the mouse very gently from the tongs it's soooo cute lol. as long as your snake is happy and healthy I wouldn't worry about how she takes it |
