Posted - 06/09/2012 : 15:55:56 Ive just bought some of these for the leopard gecko (she's been off food so thought I'd try something different) and after looking online post-purchase I've read they are quite viscous! Will they helm her (or me)? I don't mind bugs etc but now I know they bite and seen their gobs I don't wanna touch them!! |

I've not seen dubia roaches for sale anywhere near me, P@H usually have loads of critters but all just the usual.
And the crunch off the mealworms is bad enough, I think I may just be sick haha!
I have bought Roach from here http://www.roachcolony.com/dubia-roaches-1-c.asp in the past excellent quality and service. The leos won't even consider eating them just look at them and walk on by. Our crestie absolutely loves them, he falls off his ledge trying to reach them when we feed him a roach from the tongs and one of our schneider skinks is quite partial to them as well. |

Posted - 07/09/2012 : 09:00:58 I handle morios an awful lot and have never been bitten...I didn't even know they could bite o.0 I only give them to adult beardies though and they tend to be destroyed with the first chomp :P |

Posted - 06/09/2012 : 20:24:07 I was always told not to feed morios or dubia roaches..? Just crickets (which shouldnt be left in with gecko) locusts and mealworms. Cant remember why just sharing what i was told. |

Posted - 06/09/2012 : 18:23:00 We feed morios to both our leos on a regular bases, mainly because they refuse to eat anything else. We don't crush the heads or nip anything off the other end. The leos soon crush them as they eat them. If you listen you can actually hear them being crushed, thought you might like to know that lol. The crestie gets the occasional one as well. I don't pick them up with fingers as they apparently do nip quite hard so would advise using long handled tweezers. I'm pretty sure your leo will love them. A friend leos stopped eating but morios were irresistbale to it. |

Posted - 06/09/2012 : 16:22:54 Squeeze their mouth parts/heads to stun them and nip off that spikey thing at the other end before you feed and don't leave them in with your gecko if it's not eaten take it out. I have to admit I've never tried them but have read that they do have a nasty nip. I think the stories of them chewing their way out of geckos tummies has to be taken fairly lightly but I wouldn't want to risk it.
