Hey guys just noticed today Eddies no longer blue his eyes are clear so im assuming this means he will shed soon based on what ive read on here (have been over the stickys lol)
Hes due a feed tomorrow and im going away for the wknd housesitting on saturday so am a lil unsure and anxious as to what to do so would much apppreciate any advice |

Left her a meal over night. She didn't take it. Still hiding. Will take it out and feed her once she's shed! |

Cheers for the input guys Eddie ate happily enough seems eve wont when shes in blue though at least i know for the future i wont offer eve food when shes in blue in future lol

as people have said it wont hurt to feed after he has shed or when u have come back i would personally just leave him till he has finished shedding.  |

a few forum members on here have posted threads about their snakes regurging a meal when they've been fed in blue, prolly just down to vigorous shedding activities but unpleasant nonetheless
i personally don't often feed mine if they're in blue just because it's not natural for them to do so.......they'd be holed up somewhere safe waiting to shed not be out hunting for a meal  |

My Woody just started today dulling down for a shed. It didn't stop him from eating, he even managed a good strike and won the tug-of-war with a deciding coil. 
Offer him his feed and if he feels like it he'll take it. If not, don't worry. He will not be any the worse for skipping a meal. |

Mine has gone milky but not blue all over as such. It's feed day should I try and see if it feeds in the feed RUB or should i just leave it in the faun. She was a bit grumpy this morning?? |

I guess the only thing "I" can think of that would give possible reason not to try, would be that he is going to have to stretch to get it inside him, and then will want to rest and digest - it could be more uncomfortable for him whilst he still has his old skin on.
I do however think that if you do try - Eddie is going to know whether he should eat or not |

Thanks guys im uber nervous/anxious about the shed Eddies done everything else fine thus far but now its just a case of waiting and seeing with the shed it it passes uneventfully then as far as im concerned i know im not going far wrong with his care
is there any real reason i shouldnt try a feed tomorrow? are there health hygiene reasons why its not a good idea ? or is it just simply down to wether the snake feels like it or not im picking up snake no 2 later as well she will be settling in the wknd while im not here but she wont be due feeding or anything till after im back anyway

Feel free to "try" feeding him...he may or may not eat (my corn didn't eat whilst going through the shedding process, but i have read of other snakes that will happily munch away). Your corn will not have any trouble going without food for a few extra days - remember, they are opportunistic eaters and can potentially go weeks/months without food!
I hope he sheds well for you :-) |
