Hi Guys,

This is my first post here, I just have a quick question to put to you all.

I recently bought a second corn snake a month or 2 ago, who has been eating and pooping fine (but is now in hiding due to shedding.

Anyway my question is this, When i bought her i noticed the first day that her right eye seemed to be wide/larger in diameter than the left (nothing unhealthy looking, more quirky than anything). I asked a few people who said this is quite common as corns are commonly bred with Rat snakes at some point in their past.

My question is this. Has anyone else had this? is it common? can it cause issues?

Like i said theres no way it looks unhealthy/swollen just larger :)

can't get pics as she's hiding in her log and refusing to come out :)

Thanks

Tony

Have been monitoring and all is fine, still eating, shedding and pooping well (shed last week in fact) :)

If it doesn't look swollen, infected or otherwise sore, I wouldn't worry about it - just one of those quirks of nature that happen from time to time :) Do keep an eye on it though and if you notice any changes it might be good to take her to a vet.

Pictures would be helpful as well as interesting :)

I haven't got any experience of this, but you can always do one of two things: 1) take her to the vets for a check - up, just in case 2) keep an eye on it ( no pun intended there :-) ), and if it starts getting any bigger, or if it starts causing her problems, get her to the vet then.

Pictures would help. Is the eye bigger all over, or does it just protrude more than the other eye?
