Posted - 06/11/2013 : 17:49:11 I have just bought 4 baby corns.Hatched Early this year. They have all had at least 9 feeds, most have had 2 sheds. They are all about 6mths old. My concern is their size, they weigh between 6g and 9g. To me they seem way too small. What do you all think? |

Posted - 07/11/2013 : 11:53:04 My two 4 month olds are 22g each, one refused for a 6-8 weeks but is still the same weight? The two 6 month olds are 28g and 42g fed EXACTLY the same? I have one 14 month old at 30g, terrible eater!! force fed the last 10 times and one 14 month old that's 83g, eats everything and wants more! They are all so different but yours do sound small, in saying that if they are eating well and healthy they may just be slow starters or smaller snakes. Just to add the 4 month olds are Bloodred sisters and they are the smallest babies I had ever seen, tiny compared to the others and even now they are growing their heads are noticeably smaller than the others so I guess that's just them! |

Posted - 06/11/2013 : 21:14:35 Weeeell, yes they are ALL eating pinky's now,and I shall be doing the 'Peters Patent Poop out Pinky In'method that has worked so well for me in the past.None of them required any assist feeding.I can't put pics with this post-as the Jig will be up-re the old no naming and shaming side of things!! What I mean is it will be obvious immediately where they have come from and who has bred them! Don't get me wrong-they are great little guys and I am soooo pleased to have them- a lot of saving up and waiting-but wow they are tiny
I will sneak pics up later when I can get a pic.without using a macro lens as I don't have one of them either!! |

Posted - 06/11/2013 : 19:13:52 It does sound teeny - but then, ( according to K. Love's book :-) ) some females naturally lay large clutches of small eggs ( and some small clutches of large eggs ) - so maybe, you get smaller hatchies from small eggs. Baz was under 13 g at roughly 6 months old.
Aaaanyway - where are the piccies ? :-) Pleeease? |

Posted - 06/11/2013 : 18:09:55 My 2 month old guys that eat okay are between 16 and 20g. The ones who won't eat independently are still at 6-7g. Buuuut mine have had vitamin drops from the start, that may have helped a little? Are they eating on their own? How often do you feed them? |
