Hi Guys,

So I took Goldie and 13' out of the hide just now to tidy up the mess they had made (DIY and messing up of the aspen mostly).

I noticed Goldie's skin looks very dull again, eyes arent milky yet, or maybe have been already (havent seen her out since feeding her on thursday)

Surely she cant be shedding again? her last shed was the 16th of October. She's 2 years old give or take, seems like a rather rapid re-shed? not that I am an expert on this. Her skin looked very yellow at feeding day, now her belly and skin have that dull sheen.

is it normal to shed twice in 6 weeks or so at this age?

Cheers

My 2yr old was shedding monthly over the summer, although shed every 8 weeks or so over last winter so don't worry, it's normal :)

Thanks guys, Still eating and drinking and stuff (caught her in the water bowl drinking a few times recently, though she tries to pretend she's not if i see her lol), All in all she's fine. Just wasnt expecting another shed so soon. As she's not fully in the blue yet I'll try and feed her as normal this week :)

I wouldn't worry. My 4 year old Oscar went through a very odd stage at the start of the year where he shed about 3 times, leaving only a matter or 7 - 8 weeks inbetween each shed. He usually sheds every 6 months lol!

Sometimes an early shed can be brought on if they have been injured, ie caught a scale on something.

I'd just keep an eye on her, as long as she is eating, drinking and toileting well, I wouldn't worry about her

Also, she may just be having a growth spurt given she's only 2

All of mine are just over 2 and they shed every 6-8 weeks its just growth but mine seem to be slowing down a bit in their growth so looks to be about right
