hi guys i have 2 corn snakes the 1st is around 3 foot long and is great does everything as it should.the second is 5 years old and is around 5 foot in length i got him around 6 weeks ago from a public seller and since he has been with me he will not eat he has shed around 2 weeks ago and is drinking and very active.the 2 snakes share a tank together that is around 4foot by 2 foot high by 2 foot deep.the little 1 eats all the time but i cant get the big guy to eat i was told he would only strike feed but ive tried everything
any help would be great |

Are you prepared to deal with eggs? If not, separate them as you don't know the sex of the second snake. Also, if 1 snake is stressed they should be separated anyway.
Actually if the smaller is only 3ft then is unlikely to actually be ready for safe breeding anyway if a female, so... separate them!! |

It's recommended that if you house snakes together they should be around the same size.
Something I do to help snakes get back their appetites is to heat up the mouse with warm and not hot water.
I found that cutting open the head so some brain fluids come out makes them eat almost everytime.
I don't know about the rules in the UK but live food is sometimes preferred over frozen. If your snake has never had live food make sure you stay with the snake as mice are known to sometimes attack the snake or try to taste it ;)
You could also try to keep them in seperate viv's for a while and see if there are any changes in the feeding pattern :)

The big snake lived with another snake when the previous downer had it.and I dont no the sex of smaller snake thanks for reply guys |

Is the smaller corn bullying the bigger snake ?? How many hides are in the viv ?? Cohabiting snakes is a subject open to much conversation I however do not recommend it. Stress bullying can happen without you noticing. Have these snakes always lived together or have you just put them together?? .are the temperature's ok ?? |
