Posted - 21/02/2014 : 00:06:52 Sorry for not answering sooner Fiona. As SmartBunny has said, it's hard to tell from a pic whether a snake is overweight. How much does she weigh? All snakes differ so it's not easy to compare them but my adult males, who are just under 5', are just over 800g and that's where I try to keep them. I adjust their feeding schedules and what I give them depending on what their weight is doing. 1 is on medium mice every fortnight because he's still putting on steadily and I want to slow it down. The other has just been moved from a large mouse every 10 days to every fortnight.
Does she feel 'squishy' or fairly firm to the touch?

Posted - 13/02/2014 : 10:25:18 To be honest from that pic it's difficult to tell! I think it's better to get a top down view of the snake fairly stretched out if you can, as when they curl up then they do tend to stretch the bit that's going round the outside of the curve, iykwim?
Lol at little missy causing you grief yesterday! |
