This is something that dawned on me when I was watering my Venus fly seeds, I asked about water before to find out if tap water was harmful or ok to use, one opinion was that it had caused no harm to that persons snakes and that tap water was ok and more convenient!

I use a dehumidifier in my house and use this instead of bottled distilled water when watering my plants!
Would this water be ok for Shadow too?

If tap water is ok fine, but if distilled is better? id buy it, even better if its free :-)
Thanks

Because she is looking after it for you she will probably be more attentive than you would be.

Will be fine, realistically you could leave the water a couple of days so even if she forgets one of the days its not the end of the world.

(not that I'd recommend it but accidents happen)

Yeah I change the water every day but its good old council pop (tap water).

Ah ok, best not give that to the plant then, do you give your snakes tap water?
lotabob Posted - 28/11/2010 : 00:55:21
Sorry the stuff from your dehumidifier. If you distil water under sterile conditions it will be perfectly clean but the dehumidifier is just condensing moisture out of the air, there will be dust, mould, fungus, bacteria, viruses (possibly) in that water. I wouldn't even water plants with it, I would want that water out of my house so it doesn't end up back in the air.

Which one? Tap, distilled/bottled, or the stuff from my dehumidifier?

Not good at all will have all sorts of yuk in it.
