The cool end of my vivs were getting on the chilly side 19 c but the snakes were still sitting in the cool end all the time the warm end was 28-29 c. So i decided to switch on their strip lighting and this boosted the cool end and ambient temp to 23-24 c the warm end stays at 28-29 c. When I first switched the lights on they all became alot more active and moved from the cool to warm alot more often and were often seen out and about, however they have now reverted back to sitting in the cool end for days without moving whats going on with them? Don't know what to make of it!

i wouldn't worry about it, she'll move over if she's cold

I'm no expert on this RED, so can only comment from experience, but my big girl often prefers the cool end to the warm. I've always felt it's best to leave her to it, if she gets chilly she'll deceide when to move. Though to be honest, in 8 years of owning her I've never provided a hide either, I just provide a big log she can snuggle behind if she wants to, and she's never semmed to bother!!
