Posted - 05/01/2011 : 15:59:02 my little boys tiny and i want to make him grow faster i no some ppl dnt like the idea and well iv done a bit of reading on it and it says that it dosent hurt them so long as you dnt keep doing it through adult life els they put on waight n stop growing as much. i would like to now if anyones done this b4 and if so id like to ask did you feed them every 5 days? as i was thinking thats wat i would do.and if you encoutered any problems doing so.i no i wnt b able to handle him while i put him on this diet but he seems hungry and takes the food. like i said eny advice from ppl who have done this b4?? thanks april |

Posted - 05/01/2011 : 19:01:15 he is 9gs lol not much and hes 3months old iv had him for abt 4wks now and i havnt seen any signs of growth so thats y i thort to feed him more he tuck the pinky 2day instaed of saturday with a strike and hes not normaly like that the last 4 times he just taken it of the tub floor so im gessing hes wanting more food but wanted to no more abt it as dnt want to hurt him hes abt shorter then my forearm so only small still he eats pinkys every wk without fail but was wondering mayb to feed him a pinky every 5 days instead? hope that helps i crnt work out how to put the pic on eather lol |

Posted - 05/01/2011 : 17:47:01 As above, feeding every 5 days is common practice and recommended for hatchling corns. 2 of my youngsters are just about to move up to fuzzies from triple pinkies (bought a hundred of them) and the third is already taking smalls, so they get fed every 7 days, not 5.
All snakes should be allowed to grow on in their own whilst still being fed correctly- feeding more for faster growth is not ideal and can cause issues later in life.
What age, size and weight is your snake? If you give us this info along with a very recent pic, and tell us what size food it is on then we can see whether you are planning on overfeeding, are feeding correctly or even underfeeding. |
