I am thinking of getting my first viv snake is approx 22" and 32g. he is currently in an exoterra 16.3"x10.4".4x5.8" faun, and it just seems too small for him.

Have done some research and this is what setup i think i will go for:-

£
VivExotic 24in Compact(swellsnake) 34.69
PT2960 (background)(swellsnake) 12.09
Exo Terra Forest Branch Medium(blueliz) 4.99
Exo Terra Plastic Plant Croton Large(blueliz) 5.63
Pro Rep Aspen Bedding 10 Litre(blueliz) 4.91
PR Viv Lock 100mm Key Same(blueliz) 4.46
Exo Terra Glow Light Small(blueliz) 17.41
Heat Guard Round 12cmx16cm(blueliz) 7.99
Total 92.17

can anyone think of anything else i would need or would be good?

Nice setup CrazzyKaz!

I agree with Sta~ple. My corn was in an RUB until she was older as she was outgrowing everything. I just used cardboard tubes and old cereal boxes in as hides.

You don't need to splash lots of cash, as long as you have a heatmat and stat, you could buy a RUB and just use card boxes for hides. I don't see no point buying lots of nice expensive stuff until they are adults as they grow so fast.

Hi thought you might like to see my set up. as well as all the hides ect I put thicker aspin at the cool end because he likes to hide under that as well.

its his first shed and he has gone completely blue since yesterday. doesnt seem to be moving around very much at all at the moment bless him. wont keep the humidity hide in there after he has shed. yea the leds would just be for lighting purposes.

The terrarium can be bigger than the recommended size, but just make sure he has enough hides. You don't just have to use coconut hides and the like though, you can also add in those fake leaf branch things (not just one, a bit more is better) for both scenery and hiding purposes.
A heat lamp is fine as well as a mat. I like heat lamps better since it heats up the terrarium "naturally". But either way, get a thermometer to measure the temps. (Also, an 85 watt will heat up the viv to around the 80's range or so).

You should only have a humidity hide in if he is both a problem shedder AND currently in blue/shed. Leaving it in all the time can lead to scalerot and such.

As for led lights, do you mean just to light it up? As plain white leds will do that fine. Blue leds will make a nice moonlight effect.

Got the heatmat and the thermostat

Gingerpony i know thats the general rule but would it do him any harm to go for a bigger one now as i currently have added a humidity hide and now in the faun there is pretty much no floor space with his tree bark water bowl and cool end cave. ?

also yea have thought about the heatlamp and prob just going to go for led strips for light is it true blue or red is best. and wont bother with the background will just take up room.

Thanks for the quick replies btw.
