Hi everyone ive got a question thats been daunting for a week or two, erm, im going on holiday soon for 2 weeks and i can get someone to replace my snakes water bowl but im not sure if he can feed it cus hes not all that good with snakes, is it okay to feed him a day before i go (aslong as its about a week after his last feed) and will my snake be okay with going two weeks without eating??

Thanks everyone for the replys erm my snake will have his water changed once every once or two days and ill make sure that i feed him about 3 days before i leave at least so i can make sure he doesent regurgitate it or so he doesent poo in his water bowl

Mine were all fed about 5 days before I went away, mainly as it was their normal feeding day but also to make sure all had pooed before I went and to give me piece of mind that non would regurge. Going 2 weeks without feeding wont hurt them at all. I had a friend come in to check temps and change the water in my vivs every 2 days. |

My water gets changed every other day I was lucky enough that my sisters boyfriend changed my snakes water. |

I change mine every 2 days when I can, if on holiday or away they get it done every week. So long as they don't poo in it, it's all fine. |

How long would you leave the water for? I've been doing some reading and some places say you must change it every day, yet others say once a week.
Also, what's everyone's views on water? Again I've seen wildly differing opinions, from tap water to bottled...  |

i don't feed them before I go away and leave two water bowls in, then they look after themselves until I get home |

Your snake will be fine going 2 weeks without food, although if you are worried at all, then feed him about 3-4 days before you go as well, that way all your friend has to do is a water change and has no risk of having to clean a pooey water bowl.
A turkey baster is good for many thing aside from basting turkeys,  with the water bowl next to the viv door all that has to be done is the door opened a smidge, the stale water sucked out and fresh water squirted in.
