So took Karuza out tonight (she is still blue but wanted out for a good stretch)

Finally got her length and weight!

Length - 3ft 4"
Weight - 450g - 500g (she would NOT sit still)

Thing is, i can see her spine so is she that underweight?! Cos 500g seems like a wee fatty for her length! But obviously not if i can see her spine!

Personally, and this is just my own preference, I'd say she's a little on big side, heading for definitely too big if you upping her food or switching her to rats.

I'd put her on a medium mouse every 10 days-2 weeks and monitor her weight closely.

Thanks folks, that helps alot! I will be using up the small mice i have left, think there is just under 20. So will continue with those for now. Then try her on a medium mouse and gradually build her up! x

I don't get why people say change to rat if mice are fine as you should genarlly wait longer between feeds with rats. If she is taking 2 smalls it wont be long until she's on medium and chowing them down. All my corns you can see the spine and they are not under weight.

As the general feeling is that she is a healthy weight, I wouldn't move her on to rats - I have heard that they make corns fatter. But someone with more experience would know better than me.

Yep,she doesn't look at all underweight.

I can see the spine on all of mine. She looks good to me. For future reference, if you took a cross section of the snake (as if you had cut it in half), if it's triangular shaped it's underweight, arch shaped and it's spot on, round and it's a fatty.

Underweight my backside, shes a good size, shape and weight. You will be able to see the spine, it quite literally is the backbone of the snake everything is built off of it.

she does not look thin to me and two smalls a week sounds ok, depends how quick she eats them and the size of them compared to her you might want to step up a size (Can you see that she eaten after a feed?, if not its time to step up) somewhere on here is a look bit about how they should look. Sorry it not much help, hopefully one of the more experienced guys will come and help you out soon.

I'm no expert but have you got any pics of her?? easier to see if the wight is right. However, been able to see her spine is not good. What size/ how often is she feeding?
