i've got today off work and had some mice and multis defrosting for the corns overnight ready for this morning
my 4 year old daughter has been desperate to feed 'her' corn (my adult amel stripe that she's claimed as her own!) and flippin' heck she did it!

she got the mouse in the feeding tweezers, heated it up with the hairdryer, wiggled it infront of 'her' snake and got a lovely strike and coil!

all closely supervised of course but i'm really proud of her afterall these are the snake-keepers of the future (i hope!)

Aww lovely. Not surprised you feel so proud......must be in the blood.
Both my kids love to feed the snakes and my son has an ever growing wishlist already.

my little brother is always nagging to help feed mine, my stepmum lets him help her now so he's stopped pestering me lol :)

Hey thats great !. In fact thats why I had to buy myself a cornsnake as Cornetto was for Elsa's 10th Birthday and I'm not allowed to do anything she does it all herself ( with a watchful eye!) . She was getting mad as she kept catching me in her bedroom watching the snake !!!. So mine is in the lounge !

Are you training her up so that you don't have to do any of the hard work in future. I guess now you are going to have to teach her how to clean up the mess that comes out of the other end lol

Aww that's great - unfortunately, you will probably now never get to feed any of them again if your daughter has any say in the matter

how proud you must be gp. Its so important to get them involved in animals early on (personal opinion). But she has learnt from the best

very cool GP, but being a girl im sure she will be an expert is using hairdryers and tweezers :P so comes as no surprise to me.

It is good to see so many youngsters involved nowadays.
