I moved Frank and Keith onto auboise from kitchen towel (always been on kitchen towel) and gave them a wooden trixie table as well a month or so ago. They both now just sit on the tables in their cool hides. They are icy cold to touch when I get them out and slither straight back to the table when I put them back. They move under their heat mats (like they are trying to avoid to auboise) when I feed them just for a couple of hours then they go back to the table.
So which do you think is the most likey reason for this. Are they using the table to keep off the auboise? Or am I just being silly?

Your being silly :D All mine on Auboise, and the table your on about, and every time the table is in the viv they use that the most but they do go into the warm end when they think I'm not looking :P

Maybe try taking the hide off the top of the table and see what happens? Tho I've taken mine out of its faun from time to time and its ice cold to touch too. But not had any problems. Tho i dont use auboise.

There is a hide on the table , the cool hide and they have a warm hide the opposite side of the viv on the floor. They also have the space under the table which is enclosed by plants so still secluded for them. So a choice of places for them to hide in, and both the warm and cool hides are boxes so they are equal if that makes sense.

Is there a hide on the table? It could be that they are hiding in the hides on the table because its the safest place to do so? Just a thought?

I have just moved my little man onto Aubiose too - he seems to really like it...so i can't offer that much help/advice. I did do quite a bit of research when looking into Aubiose as a substrate, and can't remember reading anything like this.

It has introduced a completely new smell/texture to the faun/viv...so perhaps they could just be uneasy around it at the moment?!? Perhaps you could picking it up with your hands to get your smell into it a bit more - either that or they just REALLY love their new tables
