hi i bought sally the size up from the fuzzy because i think a pinky is a bit too small for her but the mouse was really big compared to a fuzzy, i gave it to her and she tried to eat it but was struggling (she only got to the shoulders) then she spat it out :S i left it in there incase she changed her mind and she ate was just wandering if it was too big and is there any smaller mice that come bigger then fuzzies :S

So the fuzzy didnt leave a bump at all?

Its often the case. Some people have suppliers who have varying size of each type of mouse. I had some big and small pinkies when i got my snake. The smaller ones hardly leave a bump but the bigger ones do. But they were all still classed as pinkies. It might be an idea to see what size Fuzzy it needs and go to each shop and see their Fuzzies to see which is more appropriate to your snake.

sorry fuzzy :L didnt mean to confuse you! and it's not leaving a bump do you think maybe the place that i bought the next size up were just randomly big because i used to get pinkies from there but they were really small so i started going to another place and they were the right size

Fuzzy or Pinkie? You are confusing me now.

If it leaves a bump its the right size, if it didnt then its time to consider the next size up.

okay but i though it had to have a little lump? and a fuzzy looked a bit small
Simmy_82 Posted - 26/09/2011 : 16:32:04
1 1/2 times all round. If the Fuzzy didnt leave a bulge then its the right size.

EDIT: How big is your snake? (weight and length). Also how old is it?

Mine is 3months, 19in and 21g's but is still on pinkies. They are leaving a small bulge. Wont be long before i have to increase food size.
hclue96 Posted - 26/09/2011 : 16:30:46
its not leaving a bulge tbh and is 1 1/2 sideways or upwards :L

Like garrie says, "no more than 1 1/2 times the width of the widest part of the snake" (usually around its midsection/stomach area). If a fuzzy is too big try getting either larger pinkies (the pinkies i got varied it size are fair bit), if not those then again as garrie says try feeding two pinkies for the time being until your snake is big enough for the fuzzies.

Is a fuzzy still leaving a noticeable bulge?
hclue96 Posted - 26/09/2011 : 16:24:33
sorry i meant fuzzy "/

Different shops/sources seem to give differenct sized mice a slightly different name... http://anfrozenfoods.co.uk/#/mice/4532624648 - this page shows you the general "look" of each size of mouse. I suppose that if the next size up from fuzzy is too big for her, then you should try 2 fuzzies for a while.

I'm presuming that you follow the "no more than 1 1/2 times the width of the widest part of the snake (ignoring the head) rule"??

Hope this helps

If a pinkie is too small surely you go up to a fuzzy?
