Oh no we got her out - I don't think she'd ever have got used to us otherwise lol! I even had to get her out in the first week as she started shedding 2 days after we got her home and didn't manage so I had to get her out and let her run through some wet kitchen roll! Then we left her alone again until the week was up, then started getting her out every night or so for 5-10 mins. She started poking her nose out after a week or so but darting back inside if she saw the slightest movement, then after about 3 weeks she wasn't as phased by us walking past etc and didn't dash into hiding every time. :)
aww i see! :) well shayde will need feeding just before a week is up anyway so ile have to feed him then put him away for 3 days after :( maybe i will get him out the day before the feed. :) |

We've got 2 noisy monsters, and Corno did take about 3 weeks before she started coming out, but she is in a noisy part of the house (figured she may as well get used to us lol!). She's out most mornings and evenings now unless after feeds :)
did you get him out at all in this time? like after the first week or wait until he was exploring himself and only get him out for feeds? |

Posted - 17/02/2012 : 11:56:15 One of the nice things about corns, and I suspect one of the reasons they're so addictive, (very few people manage to stay at only one) -is that they have noticably different personalities. some will be quite brave and not seem to be bothered by you, others will hide if they so much as think you're looking at them!- the variations in their feeding preferences shows it too. I've got a 7 month old tiddler who has only just in the last couple of weeks felt confident enough to stay out in the open in her viv if there's somebody in the room, or peering through the glass.
After only a couple of days even the bravest baby isn't going to be knocking on the glass for you to get him out-have a little patience- the standard rule for new snakes is to completely leave them alone for at least a week, before disturbing them. it's worth it in the end when you have a snake that isn't panicky when you open up its home and lift it out, and is happy to woggle about on you |

Posted - 17/02/2012 : 11:43:03 I was wondering the same question! I got Shisha yesterday, and he was exploring like mad, but later in the evening, and all of this morning he has been in the little coconut hide! I'm already missing him! I hope they get some courage and start to come out soon! :P |
