Rufus bit me last night, just wondering what possible causes could be? He was fed 2 full days before, temps are right, could he just be a bit grumpy? He shed last week do that's not the issue! I'm not bothered about him biting, it didn't hurt or sting! Could it be the installation of the stat? Just fed up? I don't know! And after how long should I handle him again?

Mine were all being moody last night, all tail rattling! Though that's probably because I woke them at 3 in the morning by poking them... maybe you woke your guy up?

Man, woman, dog or cat. It's all protien to the notorious Piranha Corn, or so the legends say.

I weren't trying to take him out, just resorting the sensor! I purposefully left it two days before interacting for this reason! I believe I even told him I was proud of him haha. So thank you, I'm putting it down to making him jump :) he certainly made me jump back though lol! I still text everyone telling them I'd been bit :D

Could be you just surprised him after eating. He might have been dozing.
I usually leave them undisturbed until they become active again after a feed.
Don't worry about it, getting tagged is all part of snake keeping. He'll settle down again and you can try again tomorrow. Try tapping the glass with your finger nails before opening the doors. That will get his attention and you won't seem like a threat.

He isn't showing the first stages of becoming a man-eater.

Thanks, that good advice :) I've left him today though, tomorrow he will be out! Whoop!

Just carry on as you normally would, probably just having an off day! think the worst thing you could do is to not handle him, he learns if he does not want picked all he has to do is bite
