Hi, can I use the habistat mat stat for two heat mats? Aslong as they are the same wattage they should be ok shouldn't they?
Thanks
Jamie

I run 2 mats off the Habistat 100W stat and they are within 2C of each other. And I put that down to one of the thermometer probes not being elastic banded to the stat probe...

nickyff - i've had problems running *one* mat off a microclimate stat, i've got the thermostat probe and the temp probe together. and no matter what i set the stat to it goes all over the place from 26 - 31 degrees! i flew out of bed the other day when i saw it shoot up to 31 - now i just have to keep an eye on it but definitely thinking of getting a habistat one.

you can usually get splitters for them and the habistat's are defo better use them for my corn and gehko..... might be talking out my A*S though.... just my opinion :)

i have two identical mats running off a microclimate stat- and it is a complete pain in the neck- ive tried EVERYTHING to get them to run together, but the one without the stat probe is always slightly warmer than the other one, and sometimes rockets up to 30+ for no apparent reason, giving me minor heart attacks.
i have in fact recently decided to give up on the experiment- and get another stat.
i have heard that habistat are better than microclimate tho- so it could work for you, and loads of the Knowledgable Bods seem to think its do-able... its worth a try, you can always change it later if yr not happy

I just couldn't, I was using a pulse stat which should be more accurate and give even temps but I got a range of 28-31 which I just didn't like. I guess it could ahve been to do with one of the hides I was using being heavier than the other or one snake weighing a heck of a lot more than the other?

Ok, thanks. How come you could never get it to work?
Sta~ple Posted - 28/03/2012 : 11:02:53
Long as the heatmats are the same size and are being used in the same size viv/faun/rub it's fine. I could never get it to work for me though.

ScalySituation Posted - 28/03/2012 : 10:19:59
