Posted - 30/03/2012 : 21:59:24 Was in the local garden centre when I saw some peanut feeders for birds when I realised with some modifications it would make a cheap and simple lamp guard. You would need to use quite a wide diameter sized cage but i think it would work quite well. Saw this on amazon to give you some idea what I mean

Ordinary lights, even low wattage, can generate excess ambient heat. The LEDs are cool running. |

I might build one just to see if can be done all my lamps have guards so I don't really need any myself but it would be an interesting project so to speak. |
