sounds like 1 pinky every 4-5 days will be enough for now. The usual rule is the prey should be no more than 1.5 x the width of the fattest bit of the snake. Once (he's) grown a bit, try 2, mine won't take 2 and is definately big enough, before moving up to fuzzy's, because mine won't take 2 pinks i'll move her straight to fuzzy's when my pinks run out. |

Posted - 08/04/2012 : 17:02:47 I just leave the pinky out for about hour to make sure its thawed properly on a piece of kitchen roll, its probably thawed after 30 mins, but i like to make sure. How big is your snake? Do you have pics, its hard to say without knowing the size of your snake how many to feed. I would suggest starting with 1. Do you have any forceps to feed with or are you using your fingers? Some snakes like it to be dangled for them to catch others just like it to be put in with them for them to sneak up on it. Make sure you don't handle for at least 48 hours after a feed to prevent a regurge. Have a look at the care sheet, it explains it all there on the home page. Good luck |

Posted - 08/04/2012 : 17:02:10 Depending on how you are thawing it out will depend on the time it will take. If you are using warm water (hot but not boiling) I usually leave mine for an hour and a half ish and roll it between your fingers to make sure it has thawed properly (no hard bits). You will need to give more information about your snake possibly a picture with the snake next to something to get an idea of size from before recommending 1 or 2 pinkies. And lastly yes just dangle it by its tail infront of snakey :) |
