So normally all of my snakes are mild-mannered, never bite, always out, etc. However, in the last week they've been hiding away so I haven't handled them at all. Today, when I go to feed them, two of them rattled their tails at me and two more went in to 'strike' mode! Merlin especially has always been really friendly and always ready to come out, etc.
What's up with them all?

i agree with smart bunny does sound like blue behaviour. dont forget when to do go to handle them to give a little tap on the base of the viv or on the hide just to let them know you are there

I would say it sounds like they are in blue. My 2 always hide away when they go into blue, and the worst tail rattle I ever got was from Corno when I didn't realise she was in blue (until I got her out and saw her belly scales were cloudy!).

I notice my kids get grumpy when the weather is over warm..

I don't know if this would be beneficial, but perhaps let them come to you rather than going in a picking them up straight away? Might stress them out a little less. Good luck!

Ok, I guess I'll try that then in two days (as they've eaten). I've got to clean out their vivs this weekend anyway. Thanks :)
