Hi guys, just bought my first ever cornsnake! A 3 year old Amelanistic.

See previous thread here: http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=25431

Anyway, i've tried setting up the thermostat up and all i get is the red power button lighting up. But even when i turn the thermostat temp etc the green 'heat' light just won't turn on.

Any ideas? With it being second hand i guess theres a good chance it could be faulty, especially since it wasn't in use when i arrived to pick the snake up tonight.

chances are on a day like today the stat will keep the power off to the heater most of the time :)

Haha my mistake it is working fine! I'm maintaining a temperature of around 28c at the hot end. Need to purchase a thermometer or setup the other end of the digi thermometer in the cold side.

Yeah the mat plug was plugged into the thermostat. Without the thermostat the temp has been (very slowly mind) rising. I've switched it of at around 28c mind, going to let it cool down overnight and switch it back on tommorow
