Posted - 26/07/2012 : 06:17:31 My .02 cents is she is worried about handling it when it gets big.
does this friend of yours have any exposure to snakes? (I didn't when I got my first) |

Posted - 25/07/2012 : 22:14:47 Not necessarily Serena. Greyhounds are large dogs and would be absolutely fine in a flat with no garden having one short walk a day as they sit in one place all day long, but a Springer Spaniel would be an absolute nightmare. A small dog can take up just as much room if it's round your ankles the whole time!
You need to look at an animal's lifestyle first, to see if it will knit well with your own. Then there's absolutely nothing wrong with looking at size next for practicality's sake. At least they're being sensible knowing their limits! |

Posted - 25/07/2012 : 20:01:57 Not necessarily, people who have dogs pick dogs based on size, you couldn't have a great Dane in a small flat, a smaller dog would be much better! I love snakes but wouldn't want one that grew so big, ie a Burmese. As long as the said pet is suited to the owner and well cared for, that's all that matters. |

Posted - 25/07/2012 : 19:26:27 I'd worry that someone who is picking a pet primarily based on size isn't really in it for the right reasons. |

Posted - 25/07/2012 : 19:20:35 Theres a few,but it would be so expensive and cost so much if you can even find it in the pet trade and their care is likely to be much harder to cater for. Probably a dumb question but has your friend seen the size of adult corns, milks or any other snakes at all? |

Posted - 25/07/2012 : 18:42:02 or a sand boa? males only stay dinky - under 60cm i believes |

Posted - 25/07/2012 : 17:32:31 Big is pretty relative.. a 120cm corn is pretty small compared to a 4m python... Royals don't get to long but they are much heavier then a Corn...
IMO she will probably quite happy with a Garter...

Posted - 25/07/2012 : 16:28:16 Garter snakes are smallish.. Hognose males typically get to 60 cm..
why 30 cm? |
