Just a Newbie question on Viv's size. I'm looking to get a viv to replace "Donny's" rub as hes too big for it now I think.

Form searching this (great) forum it looks like most people say you should go for a 3ft by 2ft by 2ft viv as this give the average Corn about 1 sq ft per ft of length.

Looking at the Vivonex VX range that everyone seems to rave about and the LX give 1.5 feet deep - the LX is even narrower. Is that deep enough?

I assume as these are very popular then the depth is not too much of an issue, just wondering as I could build one myself (which might be half the fun of it anyway )to the correct size.

Thanks

OK true Donny does that also - so I shouldn't worry about it - was looking at the VX 36 - so that should do nicely.

Thanks for your quick replies.

The LX range is 15" deep and the VXs' are 18" deep. The LX is fine size wise; even my 4.5' male would be at home in one of these. He is however in a VX48, but spends most of his time curled up in a 10" square hide!

The LX36 is perfect even for a fully grown Corn One of mine is 5' and has plenty room to do Corny things. I have 2 of them, 2 hand-knitted versions of similar size and another a bit taller for my Carpet Python.

Unless you can get all the materials and glass cheap and have all the tools then I would say you will be better off buying the LX36 and have it set up within a day.
