Posted - 09/08/2009 : 23:08:31 Is there a general rule about what weight of food to give for what weight of snake. Rizla is a greedy git and would eat anything you give him. I've only known him to refuse once and that was very close to him shedding. I'm trying to put him on a diet because he's a little fat at the moment, but I don't want him to go hungry.
Even as a rule of thumb, is there a rough guide? |

  When they're on single pinks (2-3g), every 5-6 days. (Snake = 4-15g) -Double pinks (3g x 2) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 16-23g) -Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 6-7 days. (Snake = 24-30g) -Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 30-50g) -Hoppers (9-12g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 51-90g) -Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g) -Adult (20-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+) |

He'll let you know if he gets hungry when he tries to get your finger!
Maybe feed a bigger food but fortnightly? How big is Rizla? grith and length?

General rule of thumb is prey around the same girth as the snake. Frequency of feeds would depend on age and size of the snake. |
