Posted - 28/10/2012 : 20:05:25 Hi, I'm going to breed my corn snakes this season and I'm not sure whether to buy or make an incubator. I like the look of the homemade one with the CD cases as view points. Are the homemade ones just as good as shop bought? Cheers |

I knew someone who successfully bred her corn snakes in a ice cream tub in the snakes tank! Wouldnt advise trying it though haha! |

Posted - 31/10/2012 : 00:20:41 I was told to put them on the side so the bottom of the egg box doesnt warm up more than the top. Also stops cooking the eggs from the bottom aswell as on the sides it warm the air equally not straight up |

Posted - 29/10/2012 : 22:34:51 I use home made ones. I have used the poly box but have recently made my new one using an old beer fridge. Heres how i made that one.

Just incase you need info on making a poly box i used a glass lid instead of cd case lids. Heres a step by step on the poly box

Posted - 29/10/2012 : 16:12:58 I was tempted to buy an incubator ive seen them for around £100 i figured itd pay for itself eventually however ive seen/read a few horror storys about them since so have gone off the idea have seen and read about them drying out or effectively cooking the eggs so ill stick to a more low tech version i think |

Posted - 28/10/2012 : 21:30:44 I may breed corns in the future but have no knowledge yet. My main worry would be not being able to make sure they are all going to good homes and if there is a demand for them?
Any advice would be appreciated |

Posted - 28/10/2012 : 20:09:43 I've used a home made one no trouble at all for leopard geckos, crested geckos and corn snakes I figured why spend heaps of money when building one for next to nothing does the job just as well |
