A friend on facebook posted an article on these poor creatures and a link to the petition. As an animal lover,it really shocked me so I thought I'd share it:

This is the article:

Just signed this petition. tbh doesn't surprise me that it's happening in China. They don't exactly have a reputation as a nation that's kind to animals..

It's disgusting & needless animal cruelty.

That is absolutely disgusting and barbaric

I did see the original post was in May 11 - does anyone know if it's still going on? I'm keeping my fingers crossed it has already stopped (but not holding my breath).

I agree with katie regardless of the persons intention for the animal be it keeping them or releaseing them the people seling them only care about selling them if people buy them to release them its still a sale in their eyes and just encourages more trade
I belong to a few tropical fishkeeping websites and this is quite a frequent visitor to the forums ive signed the petition many times and also the ones trying to ban the sale of "dyed fish" yuck just cant get my head around some people!

What do you mean?

I mean exactly what i said. Why are people ignorant enough to think that this is ok? Even somebody who has no interest in, or concern for animals must know that if something doesn't have oxygen, it will die! Also to buy them with an intention to free the animals is still giving the sellers a profit, and a reason to keep doing it!

THAT'S DISGUSTING! How could you do this do a living animal? I have just signed the petition.
WannaCornSnakeTeen Posted - 15/02/2012 : 17:23:39
if i was to buy it, it would only be to free the turtles and fish
