Hey guys, this is baby number 3. Pipped last night and came out this morning. He (or she?) is trailing something from just above the tail, and it seems to be causing him a fair bit of pain, since he totally flips out every time it comes in to contact with anything. So...all the time...
Here's the whole baby.

Here's the best pic I have of the trailing bit.

Anybody know what this is? Just a vein left from the egg? I'm hoping it's not more sinister, I don't want to think of it in pain :( What do?

Hope it's OK.

It was only attached as far as you can see in the pic, it dropped off while I was at work so...hopefully this one will be okay :/ Still flips out when it touches any new surface though...maybe it's just a highly strung hatchie.

Is it something just attached to the belly in one place, by its end ( umbilical cord, yolk sack ), or is it actually attached all along its length?

is it attached to the belly forward of the vent
