Soooo I've managed after much debating to convince the OH to let me get a hognose

Sooo excited!

I found a gorgeous one I've fallen in love with, but will have to wait till payday before I can put down a deposit or what not.

I've read so much about them online, but would love to hear stories of any hognoses you guys have!

I really dont understand why people think hoggies are ugly??????????

It's simple, open your eyes, look at them and think OMG what is that monstrosity in front of me

You need your eyes tested, they are so adorable! lol

Just had my eyes checked and my vision is 20/20 (with my specs on ) so I must be right

I was surprised how pleasant they are to hold, even if he does decide to use his head to grip me! I just gotta get mine to eat something now!

My local shops don't sell them either, so never really been interested but they are really lovely, and extremely nosey it seems!

LOL that's great haha!!

I have no shops near me with hoggies But I am going on a wee trip to visit a reptiles shop I found online in a couple of weeks hehe. I've also found an online site and have spoken to the guy who runs it. He seems lovely, as do his hoggies!

Gutted I can't get right now.....found the perfect wee man....only 3/4 weeks to wait though!! I really would love a red phase, so I will be patient and wait until one comes around.

Oooh, I'm so jealous, hoggies are on my list, too. It doesn't help that local shops are full of them ( and MBK's, and royals, cresties, etc. ).

Unfortunately, I have no hoggie stories... ( yet - ever hopeful )

Your hoggie is lovely. One of the first I came across I think!

Thanks, he is a sweetie, i'd never even heard of a hognose before here, or a crested gecko, the evil people here kept posting pics of their adorable cresties, i fell in love, determined i was getting one, the OH said no, but to him, took me ages to get the money as i never have much, felt sooooo proud when i got Fudge, i wanted a harlequin they had 1 and she was just perfect

Then the pics and stories of hoggies started...... again determined to get one, OH again said 'no' (he never learns, said 'no' to Peanut the ferret when i wanted him too)
Yep, this forum is a dangerous place to be
I really want an African Pygmy Hedgehog (guess who on forum is to blame for that lol) but i really cant see that happening anytime in near future

I really dont understand why people think hoggies are ugly??????????

YAY!!!!!!!!
Great choice, i cant give you any stories, my worm does not know he is a hoggie, he is so chilled out has kind of 'puffed' a few times like blowing air out your nose fast, but thats all, i wanted a huffy puffy hoggie, but i do love him!
Cant wait for pics

It's taken about a year haha!

Apparently I said the last reptile was the last I was getting....somehow my memory fails me on that lol.

Ohhhh, I am so jealous! I haven't had the same success with my other half.....but the local hatchlings aren't quite ready yet so I still have time wahaha

Sorry, I can't share any stories (yet), but I look forward to hearing yours!
