Evening all
So I have nothing to do this evening so started planning for next years breeding season. Drawn up a list of stuff I need. Would appreciate it if you could look it over and let me know if I've forgotten anything.

Bookshelf
Tubs
Pinkies
Incubator
Heat mats
Thermometers
Thermostats
Vermiculite
Moss
Water Bowls

Thanks
Scaly x

Might have to go with a ready-built bookcase. What heat cables do you use?

Anyone? Thinnest board I can use?

Decided I need to build a rack so I can keep the little ones well away from the cat. What's the thinnest board I can get away with using?

No problem, hope you get lots of little happy squigglers ^_^

thank you for your help :)

Only a very slight one, you could hardly tell. The cable I think was only 5mm diameter. The snakes didn't seem all that fussed ^_^

So your tubs were on a slant?
SilverWings Posted - 24/11/2015 : 07:53:06
Naw, didn't go that far, just ran it under the tubs and taped it down. If I'd planned on doing it again I might have gone to the trouble of making it permanent but my way worked just fine. Obviously you need to find a way of running it up to the other shelves but with a cable that's just a case of drilling a hole in the corner or loop it round the front if it's long enough.

Yeh was planning to use loo rolls.
Hmm, did you have to route the shelving?
SilverWings Posted - 23/11/2015 : 18:56:13
Don't know about other breeders but i had my hatchies on a heat cable, saves money and you only need one stat. I had the probe in a 'control' tub covered over with bedding, just make sure to regularly check the temps in the actual tubs to be on the safe side.

Start saving your loo roll tubes for hides, cut them in half lengthways, they're great hides that are easily disposed off when your baby throws a tantrum and somehow coats every surface of the tub in water. It will happen a lot.
