Posting on behalf of a friend with a male milk snake, owned for a year or so, around two and a half years old. My friends snake has been behaving strangely all summer, much more restless than usual, seeking escape, roaming his viv, won't settle to handling and squirting a liquid that my friend thinks is not urine or poo. We thought perhaps that the snake was going into a mating cycle.
Anyone familiar with this sort of behaviour? |

Yes, my king has been exactly the same- so it's probably the season or the teperature.
The stuff that is squirting is called Musking. It is wee, but they do it when they are scared or marking their territory. Nothing to worry about, and they won't do it once they get used to reguler handling and their surroundings. |
