To add, theres a lot of conflicting information I'm reading about this glass cracking/what should be done. And I got confused myself thinking the vivarium needed to be a few mm above the heatmat so I raised it. However, after new info from matty etc I've figured I stick the heatmat to the bottom of the viv, then raise the whole thing slightly from the surface its on as it's currently on softwood so I don't want to discolour it. So my next question is, does anyone know of any adheisive that can be used safely to stick the mat onto a glass viv, or do I need to buy a special adheisive mat. Thanks again in advance

Is the main bottom part of the tank raised upwards?
Trios's tank has a raised section that forms the floor, so I have to essentially lift the heat mat up onto the bottom of the tank.
I use polystyrene cut to shape under the tank, so the poly keeps the mat lifted to the bottom of the tank and also help to transfer heat up into the tank.
