Hi there,

I was recently given my corn snake, Theodor as his previous owner had no time for him. He is very aggressive as he has not been handled. Theo is my first snake, so i'm open to any suggestions on how to handle him, feed him ect.
I have not managed to pick him up yet. sometimes he lets me stroke him, but he is always very nervous. i have had him for almost 2 weeks and he won't feed. any tips? im worried about him. he is 4 feet long and 4 1/2 years old.

J.

Welcome to the forum ^^

How have you tried to feed? Hot, brained, smaller/bigger sizes?
Try leaving it in over night, and if still not eaten.. Try again next week.
If he has never been handled, then you may need to leave a glove/sock etc in there, so he gets used to your scent :)

Eventually you're nerves will calm down, especially when you have him out for the first time ^^

his previous owner was still giving him fuzzy,s so i tried the same. he is a big 4ft boy so im sure he could handle something bigger. how big a mouse can i try him with?
i have brained the fuzzy's, left it in his viv over night ect. he pushes em around but does'nt eat them.if i try to wiggle them he turns away and hides even though that's what his prev owner did.

Fuzzys for a 4ft seem a bit too small..
Mines 2.5ft & 11 months old.. And he's on small weaners.
The general rule is 1x / 1.5x the width of the widest part of his body - So just take a look and see what he could take.
(Go down to your rep shop and ask to see which ones they have, as I ask for the smallest small mice they have ^^)

thanks very much. he is quite a fatty so he could prob devour a full grown mouse and follow it up with a fuzzy. Ill get him one today and see if he likes it.

Hello.

Like Speds, mine's the same-ish size, doc maybe a inch or so, and older but more chunkier. but he's on the smallest Weaner I can get, last feed the weaner was rather fat, by mistake of myself, it was middle of scrawny ones merely bigger than a fluff, or a humungus one.

Theres a Mouse Size Guide in general keeping infomation thats very good.

heya and welcome

ideally he should be on a large/XL mouse mouse fortnightly but as that's such a change from what he's been used to then make any changes gradually
