Depending on budget, if were looking to buy a 1L car I'd be looking at any of these...

Polo
Punto
Fiesta
Cleo
Corsa
Saxo
106
Maybe not in the order tho lol

I suggest heading off to a dealer and sitting in a few and just
seeing how they feel. I like Cleos, my wife wanted one,
but she sat in one and for some reason the steering wheel isn't inline with the pedals in them
which put her straight off, dont know if that was a one off lol but you need to see how a car fits you.

German cars have pretty good build quality, but I must admit, fords fit me well. I have felt at home in every ford I've sat in lol, and now I have all these kids to taxi about, I now drive a Ford Galaxy 7 seater (sexy I know)

Don't get a Renault - they are really good when they are new but you can’t get factored parts so spares cost you a bomb when they start going wrong at 6-7 years old.

I only got my licence 3 years ago and my OH got me a little 1.1 Metro - no street cred but hey I’m too old for that anyway. I loved it, Really cheep to insure, ran practically on fresh air drove it everyday for almost a year, never so much as lifted the bonnet. It did a wicked handbrake turn and was fab for rally driving down country lanes not to mention jamming in to those tiny parking spaces. To top it all I could just squeeze 2 car-seats + 5 year old daughter in the back and get the double buggy in the boot. Wicked till some little C%£*s nicked and burnt it out at the bottom of Novers Hill (200 meters away from my house). RIP Putt putt, Taken to the big car park in the sky too soon.
