But, he says that it drops to about 62 degrees. That's like 16 celcius. I don't think my house has ever been below 20c.
Strangely enough though I use foil on the backs of 3 of my tanks, to reflect sunlight.

Good idea for the winter if it gets really cold, but most people have the heating on in winter so the house is usualy warm enough to not bother with tin foil.
