How often does a corn snake usualy shed.
I am not sure of the age of the snake as the people we got it from could not tel me for sure, but it is about 1 meter long if that helps.
They told us that it had shed recently and we hav only had it 2 weeks.
I picked it up today and it's color seemed a bit washed out, it's belly had sort of a white color to it with am almost pearlescent sheen (best way I can describe it).
Also it's eyes looked a bit hazy which I read is a sign of impending shedding.
so given that info should I be concerned or is it simply a case of thier idea of "recently" is a bit different to mine and he is in fact starting to "blue"? |

Hi, I wouldn't worry too much. It sounds as if he's in shed. It varies from snake to snake on how often they shed. Two weeks isn't very long between sheds but it sounds as if the people you got it from were rather vague so it may well be much longer! I'd start to keep my own records and then after a while you will begin to get an idea of what is normal for your snake. |

Sid usually sheds once every 2 months roughly but he had a bad shed once and needed help. After this bad shed he shed again just 12 days later even though we got all of the old troublesome shed off him. (sorry about all the sheds in the post). I gues he just felt that his skin still wasn't quite right so I think it can vary alot. |

he could be in blue.......shedding happens more frequently when they're young, having a growth spurt or healing from injury. it could vary from every 2-3 weeks to every 4-6 months |
